Closson Chase Vineyards
Capture the Sun
Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime interactive artmaking experience! Artist Patti Randazzo Beckett will be conducting a cyanotype print workshop at Closson Chase during the total eclipse on April 8th.
Cyanotypes, or 'sun prints' are one of the earliest forms of photography, using sunlight and a light-sensitive formula to create the original blueprint.
Learn about the process and Patti's techniques over a glass of wine, then gather plant materials collected from the vineyard and arrange them while the sun begins its retreat. In total darkness, expose your light-sensitive canvas and create your final composition. As the sun reappears, the printmaking begins!
Included with each ticket:
- A glass of wine or non-alcoholic eclipse mocktail
- ISO-certified eclipse glasses
- Materials for your own 15" x 22" cyanotype print
Guests are encouraged to arrive as early as 2:00pm to allow more time for material gathering and composition layout. We will provide vine cuttings and other foraged plant materials from the vineyard, pressed flat. Feel free to bring any of your own pressed or flat objects that you'd like to add to your composition.
Location: Closson Chase Vineyards, 629 Closson Rd
Time: Monday, April 8 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm
