Bill Milliken has an enduring love affair with outstanding wines of the world, including the extraordinary chardonnay and pinot noir produced here in Ontario. In the late 1990’s he discovered the pioneering Chardonnays made by Deborah Paskus and became a dedicated follower. He first gave concrete expression to his passion for Ontario’s estate wineries, advocating for the formation of the Ontario Wine Producers Association (OWPA). Bill and Seaton McLean, a founder and active member of the OWPA Board, got to know each other working with other dedicated producers committed to making the best possible wine from Ontario terroir. He has assisted several wineries improve their market position in Ottawa and served as a Prince Edward County wine ambassador on many occasions.

Bill has effective strategic marketing and communications skills honed over a career spanning decades – from growing Harrowsmith Magazine in the late 1970′s, through shaping John Manley’s image as a respected national political figure, to helping a range of clients in manufacturing, health, financial services, aerospace, and not-for-profits achieve media, electoral and government relations success. The Hill Times recently recognized him as one of Canada’s 100 most successful lobbyists. Bill is eager to apply his knowledge, skill and passion to take  Closson Chase to the next level in its evolution. He looks forward to life in The County, close to his family home in Kingston, Ontario.
